Rehabilitation of patients after stroke, head, brain and spinal cord injuries (quadriplegia, paraplegia), after neurosurgical operations, in demyelinating diseases (multiple sclerosis…), central and peripheral motor neuron diseases has been performed at the Institute Igalo for over 60 years.
The aim of the rehabilitation is, through individual approach to each patient and under participation of a multidisciplinary team, to achieve a maximum functional ability of patients in activities of daily living (ADL), and in accordance with their physiological limitations.
A complex rehabilitation program includes kinesytherapy, occupational therapy, logopedic and psychological treatment, electrotherapy procedures and hydrotherapy.
